Anonymity on the Web[]

Being ‘online’ is a daily occurrence for the majority of United States citizens. Statista’s survey shows that on average U.S. adults spend 123 minutes on “laptop and desktop activities everyday.” Checking emails, shopping, online searches, and social media are only a few of the many possible activities. Unfortunately, not all users understand the extent of their online selves and the effects it has to their future self. The “Anonymity on the Web” wiki looks to solve this issue by informing users about the type of impact they are making online, why this should concern them, how they might better protect themselves, and be more aware in the future.

This wiki will cover the anonymity on the web while linking together various subtopics. These subtopics will include but are not limited to browsers, privacy, search engines, avatars, net neutrality, online tracking, semantic web (3.0), and a brief history of web rights.
